A Poem by Traci

Roused with anguish, shrouding my days

Enthused by conception, bleeding into my dreams

Feeling a sting of remorse, a hint of despondency

Descending from the summit of Mount Everest

Slithering like a snake into the Valley of Death.

Days of futility, nights of desolation

Like Sisyphus, born to an eternity of deceit

This battered soul tussles with the burdens of life

The depravity of humanity, circling like vultures

Haunting … Climbing the heights of sorrow,

Lunging into the pits of fiery despairs.

Persevering no matter the odds

Vanquishing all fears, transmuting, evolving

In stillness that follows,

Time slows beneath the Moon, facing Venus

A shimmering light amongst the fires

A blank canvas, crimson blood and poison tears.

And when time is there, to be silent, she writes

Twisted tales chiseled in stone

Whispers of wisdom in the shadows

I’ll be her eyes through the turmoil

Speaking in silence, reading each word,

That enters the ether of realm, of core

I shall never forget

There is always a light, a true beautiful light

Spiritual fortitude

That’s channeling, smiling in silence.

As the battle within continues ….

There's enormous power and shooting colours in this... words near used as tools (rather than ammunition) to ward off intense emotions. Life has bittermess. times that strike the heart as if a piece of tough flesh, not worth seasoning, least of all savouring. The Moon, light, brightness sinks and rebirths to hit between the eyes, it stuns, it heals as its absorbed... Needs to be stored oh so carefully and.. used wisely.

Traci, please, please find time to write more.. and more. This is a work of passionate art.. needs present day company!

Thank you Josie.
I like that the absolutely bleak beginning gives way to a much more steadfast and steady resolve at the end.

Fabulous. The piece does not start soft and slow, but has energy from the first lines and was ready to pick up speed, which it did.

I enjoy a piece like this that captures me quickly and takes me on a ride as the energy builds and my breathing increases as my heart races faster to keep with the piece I am reading and the final breath released slowly as the final perfect lines complete a beautiful work.

I felt this to be a building story of your pleasure in writing. Thanks,

Indeed dear, nice to see you again :)
This world feels like a never ending hour story with all the bloodshed... but humanity will survive as long as even just a few of us believe.

Thank you for taking time to read and review this piece.
Chilling and beautiful all in the same. Powerful words paint a grim picture but also show you how someone can truly feel. Well done. One of my favorites so far.
