Voyage on Canvas

Voyage on Canvas

A Poem by Traci

Dangerous beauty.

In lone and silent hours a woman’s woes reveal an untold story

Like part of someone else’s façade

this intuitive artist sails along to the call of destiny,

struggling to feel a moment of harmonious bliss,

the type of “real” happiness

that comes from deep within the heart and soul

pondering what this might feel like,

as sadly, one truly does not know.

Like a train wreck of moods, a rollercoaster of emotions,

there is no escape from reality

always an anchor, a refuge in time of storm and crisis,

Muse is gently awakened

through tears of sadness, not joy,

a palette of blues, reds and yellows are captured and committed

on clean, white canvas

like a spider’s geometrical web tangled emotions emerge

and the intrusive thoughts become louder and louder

The defying days of one’s existence do not sail on calm seas

with each expressive brush stroke

ocean currents are painted amongst despair

in sad silence this lonely soul navigates with caution,

sailing in turbulent waters, in the midst of a thunderstorm

helplessly this voyager is tossed around in aquatic inner turmoil

hidden demons torment as the ship seeks harbor,

floating in distress, until clarity and safety is found

The deep sea teams with life,

and like a painting humanity has its flaws

souls shall be born anew in tomorrow’s sunrise

and with each new day comes a safe port,

a new chapter in one’s diary and life

and another fresh white canvas to paint one’s

harbor of tranquility

All journeys have a secret destination hidden behind each stroke of the brush.

Such a beautiful piece Sweet T. It calls to me as you often do. No miles can separate. I feel this depth, this place you find in your Life Journey and pray your safe harbor is found.

Here, a painter paints on a canvas, with brushstrokes depicting the voyage of life where there are turmoils. This shows raat we are the artists of our own life. True that every journey has a destined/ secret destination. Sometimes it's even learning...
You have used poetic devices so beautifully and I admire the word play and structure.
"hidden demons torment as the ship seeks harbor,"
This is worthful and wise.

You are welcome and I agree!
and soon that fresh white canvas will find its web of confusion....thoughts find a way to get tangled....

nicely woven like the spider's geometrics...

Thoughts easily get tangled, yet the surrounding sea comforts.

after reading so far, i was feeling sadder than sad.. so aware of the negatives in your world.. though so finely laid in the poem But, slowly, slowly you find the gentle strength to face the future.. and make for that new white canvas.. Pray what you paint is a masterpiece.. Hugs, welcome back.
