Confessions of the Heart

Confessions of the Heart

A Poem by Traci

Two separate identities, yet we share one thought process

now accepted with mutual understanding

sparked by triggers, fueled by ups and downs

uncertainty, anger, sadness

distress back with a vengeance

emotions not black nor white

but always mournful shades of gray

Along on a journey

should be a wild and wondrous ride

full of discovery, dreams and promises

yet for one, I…a puppet on display

wear a mask, a façade;  happy for all to see

yet deep beneath the surface

I am of your blood, more like you than I seem

I love and hate the way the mind works

feeling as if it is merely a foreign object

one that continues to betray

yet at the root of my soul

 hope resounds through darkness,

to in the end, save.

not a moment of weakness,

but a moment of strength.

We all face struggles and misfortunes in life. Mine has changed me. Allowing my tears to flow in my ink helps to influence others when they are down and sorrowful. You are never alone.

the journey is so much traveled inside...that journey others never really see...they can't imagine how much the toll can be...and we do move in and out of the darkness...the train goes through dark tunnels...and sometimes it is hard to recuperate from that.

when the mind is not in balanced with the spirit, it will lead into deep confusion and pain, and in love it's even harder, all will come out like burning rivers... they say love doesn't cause You pain and unhappiness, but it bring the pain and unhappiness that's already in You, I think of that and I know it's very true... all the best for You my friend, a true strong and beautiful Soul* Hugs***

One of my favorite themes in good writing is to convey how we are full of contradictions. I hate people who are hypocrites, but we all end up having our senseless urges & diversions, don’t we? Your poem is chock full of details to show all the ways we can stand naked in our writing & spark some relationship in an unknown reader, whereby we are “kin” becuz of our life experiences. You’ve taken a deep topic & made it understandable & universal (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

The above lines. Solid and true. We have to stop and show real face to remember who we are. Thank you Traci for sharing the excellent poetry.

Thanks Cass, look forward to catching up with your lovely work.
Realised that in spite of our exchanges about life and such, i've not reviewed you for ages.. and here I am.. gasping at your beautiful words.

' I…a puppet on display ~ wear a mask, a façade; happy for all to see ~ yet deep beneath the surface ~ I am of your blood, more like you than I seem.. '

No matter who we are, no matter how we might appear, clothed in Self for self.. we do feel much the same at least part of time allowed. We strive
to help, listen.. try to use, give and share what's best in mind and heart. Perhaps.

This is moving and powerful. You are indeed a pillar of hope, your fortitude and passion echo through your words. I enjoy the way you write because it makes me feel something, it's not just a good feeling, it's an empowering feeling to never give up and keep pushing to be better. Great write Traci, you keep the shadows at bay and teach us how to live in the light.
