Wherefore weep you?

Wherefore weep you?

A Poem by Weston R.
"

Composed (kind of) in my head while walking in the rain, today.

"

Wherefore weep you, sky?

Is it for birds who, like rats in light,

Are absent here but are in far off lands?

Or is it for the worms who crawl on earth

And wanting to embrace thy tears are drown'd?

Or is it for the grass, who loy'ly guards

The ground, that is bath'd by thy silent sobs?

Or is it for the dirt who used to lie

Content but now runs red all thanks to thee?

Or is it for Man, who used to love thee

But now does not care about thy sadness?

Or is it for I, who, now asking this

Has abandoned thee to stay alone

With nothing but thy cries and moans and thee?

Or is it for thyself, which was once blue

Now is o'ercasted by the dullest gray?

Wherefore weep you, sky?
