Carnival

Carnival

A Poem by wakaishitai
"

Wanted to write a song, but I was at work and I didn't have service to listen to instrumentals. So I just wrote these words down instead.

"
*

Even though you've had a few, you're deaf to tunes you're dancing to
I don't wanna make you move, an idle lullaby

I can feel the magnitude, the depth of what I'm asking you
Cheaper than most words would be, I think I've bought some time

Why you wanna make me prove the fact that I'm in love with you?
Catapulting after you before you say goodbye

Every time I laugh with you I find a play a bitter fool
All my selfish inquiries will make the truth a lie

Yellow tainted baby blue, a color made for only two
How is it I'm next to you when I don't feel alive?

I know what you make of me, an artist who's insatiably infatuated by your state of mind

I know I broke all the rules, but that's because you told me to
When we would speak alone in dreams of mine

I know it was awful cruel, I try my best to offer you a love I know you're desperate not to find

Actually, and masterfully I catch you in the act
of wishing you could send a shiver down my spine

Love is an acquired taste and I have no more time to waste
We're biting both our tongues when we should talk

You can name a thought in haste, a thought I know you'll soon replace
A heart of stone is still a beating rock

Read between the lines and trace the sections labeled "my mistakes"
You're beautiful because you're in a mood

Never thought I'd have to say, that soon I will be old and grey
And loving you is something you find rude

I say I know you better than you think, you say I'm wrong
I'll sing a song you wish you'd never listened to

You just keep distracting me, you say I'm acting drastically
I'm more of a catastrophe at best

I contemplate a remedy in hopes that you'll remember me
Despite the fact I linger on your breath

Doctoring the way you think of me, I do it endlessly
I fathom of a notion you should keep

Carnival of audio, a circus full of freaks
Adios, arpeggio, you lull me back to sleep
