I Get Confused Sometimes

I Get Confused Sometimes

A Poem by Friday Night

This takes a lot of courage

So hopefully you'll see

Through the sticky porridge

That seems to be me.

Yes this poem makes no sense

But I made it just for you

I wish you would jump the fence

And join me down here, too.

To me it's about someone who's hopeless yet wished to have someone/something to hold onto. Someone who thinks that self-abuse takes a lot of courage, and maybe it really does - but maybe he wants to prove something to himself by doing that.
Very interesting piece.

i like it when an author says that: "find your own meaning". It makes me go back and read the poem again and again until my mind is nearly blown from the mutliple meanings i have come up with. For this poem, i have chosen the meaning of lonliness. It seems that the speaker is desperate for company, and is begging the other person to join them so lonliness is no more :) Great work!!
