Behind the Crooked Brow

Behind the Crooked Brow

A Poem by Anne Lyons

Every notion I felt

was correct.

I purposely avoided

reading your blogs

and other works.

Really, for the

reason that I had

a hunch that I

would only find

you more alluring

than I already do.

And I couldn't

of been more right.

Every word you

wrote was lovely.

I found myself

hypnotized by your

telling stories.

 Your knowledge and

examination

of the world around you

astounds me.

The world is deafening.

And you see outside

of that.

I did too once,

and at times I find

myself there;

acknowledging

life for what it

really is and not

for what people say

it is.

My mind imagined

you beside me,

explaining in bold

detail what you

knew.

I'm a sucker for

knowledge, and

you seem to define

knowledge.

I find it completely

impecable.
