Talk to me

Talk to me

A Poem by Gabby The GAB

Under the impression of being hypnotized by the thoughts coming in so fast.
Very strange and very unusual.
You asked, can it get any weirder? Okay, a thought of an answer.
If it were not me, had it been Okay for you?
Impressed, depressed. Well, I was overstressed.
My thoughts lurking out as if I was burdened. Was I?
Tears fell down innumerous times, a smile blossomed. Was it joy?
Expectations I can’t seem to comply.
Gave an Effort for a special occasion, was called Lame.
An affection I’ve cherished. Still, you expect perfection.
A being born to fulfill those, what are those? Things? Still could not.
Try harder? I’ve done that. Was it enough? Nope. Harder then.
Incapable to comprehend things other than logic.
Logic? I’ve questioned that a moment ago.
Too many questions being asked. Was it worth it?
In every answer I answered verbally. Was it understood? Nope.
Well I seem to play it safe lately. Lay lowed for quite a while.
Still not good enough. I’ve admired you deeply.
Mine was real. So were you trippin?
I’m very deep right now.
Talk to me.

This poem reminds me of when I was young & communication was all messed up between two people who liked each other, never saying what we felt & often talking about dumb stuff that's outside what we really wanted to talk about. You portray that bumbling perfectly with my strong examples to show instead of tell. Also, girls were notoriously bad about criticizing the way a guy would act or talk, like he needed to be "COOL" or she would blow him off. Now that I'm old, I realize how many times we were paying attention to al the wrong things. This poem is originally stated as how it can be for many people . . . old or young! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

I can relate heavily to this, as you simply put the words together it made such a beautiful writing, and I hope one day you find a place where people won't expect you to be something of perfection, so you can be yourself to them.
