Path of Autumn

Path of Autumn

A Poem by WindSong

Path of Autumn

The branches sway gracefully

Near the pond.

A misty fog

Envelops the pathway

By the trees.

As I walk along,

There is a somber stillness-

An uneasy calm

Waiting

Down the battered path of autumn

Where dark red leaves

conceal the earth.

A sudden burst of wind

Blows the foliage swiftly around

In a spiral of colors.

I follow the path

Where deep earth tones,

Still fresh

In the sweet scent,

Are left on a trail

Of falling leaves

For you.
