silence, the monster that scares lovers

silence, the monster that scares lovers

A Poem by Mia Angeli

the pleasing sound of breaking glass

we both like it

the glass breaking

the satisfying sound

apart from the chaos

everything is quiet

empty

or we think so, baby

i see your burning eyes

mine will burn harder

i take the next glass

the fire burns my fingers

as i smash it to the wall

it brushes past you

so close

you look at me with wide eyes

the burning ball i am aiming at you

you hate me

scream it

scream against the burning ball

scream it baby!

the glass smashes

the last satisfying sound

you look at me

the flame in your eye

lights off

everything is quiet now

no, baby,

the silence hurts
