heliotrope

heliotrope

A Poem by highonwords

the lung spits out my heart
as i think your name, bold-lined,
prussian blue in the sadness
echoes lift itself up the mount
of blood; every step tumbles down
to an unnamed pain, away from this -
this, our uncompanionable love
there is a tear in the layers
of breathing air, crying madness,
fire that roars in a heliotrope,
that dies without wind under
each petal of your name
