A Poem by highonwords

burning you to a faded color
of a face; love that was tinted
love in a gray tone of the imagination
you stepped out the head-clouds
of my heart, with all the wind
and rainbow out of my reach
i've been raining all summer
you rise over the other side
of another heart, the ash of love
colors the horizon a broken haze
i haven't moved the moon since,
i am in a perpetual black depth
the ocean swallowed the stars
our lighthouse a red moonbeam,
forever in cast-off splinters
