Dancing Nowhere

Dancing Nowhere

A Poem by Harlequin
"

An Escape

"

Around, around in a pirouette you go,

gracefully floating with each spin.

Every turn you make takes you farther away,

forgetting all with a passionate grin.

Across the floor jete, jete,

like a doe in a meadow of green.

As you jump and sway, emotions play,

unaware as the dance becomes a screen.

In a final plie your adagio ends,

breathless, your performance complete.

Showing adoration the applause transcends,

with dimming light comes reality's heartbeat.

The ballet of life is your true tragedy.

A desperate dance to escape despair.

Demons silence your sweet Tchaikovsky.

Fall to the floor, you're dancing nowhere.

AAAAAAAAAHHH! O - M - FREAKING - G! This is soooooooo good! Stanza 2 Line 4 has a bit of musicality issues (a bit of wonkiness around "becomes"), but the progression, the narrative, THE POETRY! I can't believe I'm reading such brilliance! Way - to - Go! That last line is honestly....it's gold! Absolute gold! Well freaking done!
