Macabre Kitten

Macabre Kitten

A Poem by songstress
"

N/A

"
bitter, black little cat--
with splayed claws and red eyes--
paint this cataclysmic world in shades of gray.

Dining on charcoal and obsidian,
pearl-white teeth decorate cold pavement in heavenly disarray.

The meowing stops suddenly,
and the babe's cry, which has been for the longest time,
resonating within mother's broken ribs, drones on.

But, this night is nothing more than a pyre.
dyed in hues of gray, the only broken thing found here
is the wine bottle carried by the cat.

His chest heaves in sulfur,
and teeth fall like little silver bells on black tile.

Paint everything gray with tears of silver,
and rain more blood on the babe's bed...

He'll, irregardless, keep on weeping...
but maybe mama's song will return.

So sing sweetly with broken fangs, that macabre song.
for as the last bell falls into cold pavement,
your soul becomes consumed by obsidian.

very nice contrast: such intense, dark things described so softly:) also, your choice of words is amazing, you can rarely find it anywhere, most people use common language, I can only imagine how much work to create something like this takes and since I'm not native English speaker it is very inspiring to me:)

Once again, excellent use of colour to diction. Indeed, the hues set the atmosphere, and the poets writes it down; a slave to one's colourful imagination.

A really eerie creepy feel, open to interpretation. I know you said to ignore grammar but you spelled macabre correctly inside the poem but not the title.
