ashen fields

ashen fields

A Poem by Pax
"

"

I sit alone as if I am fading

Invisible in the ashen fields.

My heart longs to be somewhere

to where I see myself

Clear as the new day

True to oneself’s beauty

Away from the toxicity of people’s opinion

Or as far away from my own shadow of doubt.

I sit alone & not running anymore.

Losing strength as the wind passes by

Losing a bit of my edge in this unreasonable persona, I face.

Yet I never give a damn as long as I kept on going

Reaching for something Unreachable,

I can only hope…

I want to feel the life of someone’s at arm’s reach

to feel that I am alive

I missed you.

How awesome it would be to be away from the ashen fields of a toxic, judgemental world. Even from our own self-doubting selves. Away, in a place of quite solitude with someone who reinforces and completes us, so we don't feel like running any more. Thanks for such insightful poetry Pax.

Fields we've all visited.
You portray those surroundings with stark accuracy, Pax.
Nice work!

The above lines left me with thoughts to ponder. Thank you my friend for sharing the amazing poetry.

Your words are so moving, as your longing only grows with each passage. There is almost a haunted hope that aches for more, yet lingers in the ash, only wishing. Powerful and painful, my friend.

This is gorgeous...the heart's lament, soul searching to find it's home,
Eloquent in its poetic beauty and fluidity. One of my favourites
On here. Thanks for sharing :)
