Never meant to be

Never meant to be

A Poem by windtalker1252

Its for the first time

Now that you are not mine

I saw a picture of you on the beach

How happy you were without me

The picture is crying out loud

Now I get it without a doubt

It was never meant to be

You and me

- some lessons come easy - some lessons come painfully - inexplicably painfully hard - i know - through what could have been a lifetime of making do - and has turned out - to be the darkest tunnel that leads to impeccable, unadultrated, undying light - that it's not easy - it's not even in the same vicinity of being close to being easy - (stolen in rendition from jerry maguire) - these lessons of perceived love and loss - are the ones that inspire - when one is able to look beyond incapacitating pain - one to carry on - and chase the dreams and hopes - that had been tucked away in elusive corners so far - the limitless pain - births the limitless passion - to pursue - what the heart of hearts - had even learnt to stop dreaming of - maya angelou said - "the caged bird sings of freedom" - and you know - now - even in the aches and darknesses of perceived heartbreak - exactly what that means -

.
. without meaning to belittle the poignant feelings expressed in this gem of a poem in any way ... i must humbly submit ... that ... what was ... was not love ... love is way more ... than knowing what to do with your time and attention ... love is much more than hanging out ... love is about helping each other ... make each other's dreams come true ... and i don't think that happened ... here, dreams never met ... they never fell in love ... here, two people met ... and yet ... they were as if alone ... and then one day ... one of them said ... it's not working out ...

. initially, the word for this feeling seems like it is "devastation" ... but it's not ... the word for it is "depression" ... when we're depressed, we settle for anything ... anything that brings in even a whiff of respite or relief ... love is much more ... love is inspiration ...

. i hope and i wish and i pray that you find an inspirational love ... and know for yourself ... that ... you can be who you want to be ... and you can be with ... who you want to be with ... and remember also ... that there are only six degrees of separation between you and your wish list ...
