Robots and Reality

Live life and be you. don't be something your not

One thing I hate is robots. Computers. Phones. Droids. But what I hate more than all those

 

things are the people who become those things. I knew a girl who all she ever wanted to do was

 

be an actor for a Broadway musical, she knew every musical, memorized every lyric, and was so

 

talented that every time she sung it was like heaven to your ears. But she didn't follow her

 

dreams. She followed what everyone else wanted. Her parents wanted her to be a scientist.

 

Her friends wanted her to be cool. Her boyfriend wanted her to be happy…. She was a robot.

 

She followed and made everyone else happy and ignored her dreams. She would sing in private

 

and write lyrics and then throw them in the trash. Her boyfriend saw this and hated it… so she

 

got rid of him… now she will forever be a robot. An object. With no feelings. No passions. Shes

 

controlled by her surroundings and nothing will ever fix that… she's a robot. And I wish people

 

would pursue their dreams. Be a writer, a comedian, an actor, singer, dancer, gamer, be you,

 

because at the end of the day what was life when all your hard work was for nothing. When you

 

die it's better to be remembered for being someone who lived life to the fullest and standing up

 

for yourself and ignoring everything outside of you that hinder you from being you. It's better to

 

burn out in a blaze of glory than to just fade away. Don't be like this girl. Don't be my girlfriend.

 

Don't be a robot. You're a human, with feelings and passions, and you need to be you, and do

 

everything it takes to pursue your passion. Don't lose hope. Don't ever give up. Robots are

 

things… but you are you.

This is a very powerful piece. I can relate alot. But it's a great feeling to get out of being the'robot' and being yourself again. Loved it.

Hey dude! I really do like your insights into a particular type of person, its nice to know that other people have similar thoughts about life. I'm not giving it a rating (since it sounds more like a journal entry than anything) but this was definitely enoying to read. Thanks for that.
