My Winter

My Winter

A Chapter by Wondering Mind

These white streaks

of first snow

warn of my

winter years

Who knows

if there will be a New Year

Surely

        silently

                 slowly

drifting into

my ice age

Forever frozen

to my final fate

forlorn

it glitters and sparkles like those icicles that hang from the eaves or the snow drifts that haven't been walked through yet . . .

it's a big wheel and it just might catch us all on the upstroke as the bells boing for another year, another chance.

hmm sounds like a winter drive ;)

:)

I do really love how you use alliteration, it' so much fun to read.
Drifting into my ice age now there's a solitude that may not be so bad. We should ask walt disney how he fancies it so far...

Nice write!

. huh? ... i'm sorry but this is just a poem ... a brilliant image ... a brilliant array of words ... spectacular alliteration ... breathtaking and bewitching ... but we're not letting you go anywhere ... no way ... your application for "drifting into your ice age" is not approved ... :) ...
