I had a dream

 

I was teasing you

at your most compassionate

of consideration,

as usual.

 

I should have stopped

and hugged you more often.

 

Why are you eating half?, you asked.

 

I woke up and hugged you this time,

whispering,

 

It’s because you’re not here
