My Crimes, Your Judgement

My Crimes, Your Judgement

A Chapter by Wondering Mind

You judge me,

so what’s new?

I always knew.

Reading your past,

I’m not your first,

and I sure won’t be your last.

But between my crimes

and your judgement,

at least mine

have been consistent.

we all have skeletons in the closet, which eventually come out. sometimes we don't wish to see the other's skeletons because their own secrets don't warrant their judgement on our own. i hate hypocrisy.

great rhyme pattern. the last stanza, humorous.

there is something compelling about the shortness and simpleness of the lines. they echo bitterness and triumph and cynicism all at once. an intriguing write.
