Mindless

Mindless

A Poem by Rayne Stanton
"

There really is no point to this... it is quite literally mindless.

"

A baseball-

cap to a bottle of liquor,

champagne popped like a Prada bag-

zipper covering up your

best friend as she drives her crazy a*s truck

to a sexy prom night that lasts until the brink of sun-

light a cigarette by the window sill

as your lover whispers for you to hold

still like the silence as your mind’s

blown away like a leaf on a late autumns day,

as sunny days turn to snow-

flakes that drift and land on my

window fogged from the heat burning

inside the fireplace as memories turn to

ashes and dust

this is all that’s left of our lust.

Author's Note

Rayne Stanton
If you are a perfectionist or slightly OCD, I'm sorry for the jumble. It's meant to be read as each line connecting to the previous line. I based this off of the ramble that minds tend to do on a daily basis as it jumps from one subject to another.
