Another Love

however it came to me 'Another Love' is about the trials of having two lovers, and unwilling to let either of them go - one because of love, the other because of need what will one lover say to that anyway?

 

 

My love for you will never die

Though for another it may grow

I didn’t intend for it to happen

This way

But who would ever know?

 

Why won’t you see me?

Why don’t you care?

You turn your head in silence

Colder then your stares

 

If you are ashamed

Why not tell me so?

Was I the one?

That slipped away

As all we are

Has come undone

 

And fallen away?

So faraway….

 

My love for you is pure

Though our pool is shared

By another angel suffering broken wings

Who has no one else

That gives a care  

 

Will you push him away?

Let bitter, rotting jealousy

Drive you to merciless pain?

 

Or give him a second chance

To mend each battered wing

To sew every untied thread

And all the bruises and heartache

He comes upon in between

 

We all feel it

Though you could deny

I love him too,

That much is true

So will you deny me?

Just this once, I ask you

Please

No matter what you do

So do not runaway

And let us be

For always, for forever

It bothers me how everyone seems to expect, no, demand, that a person only be in love with one other person at a time. Love can take many shapes and forms, and there are too many people in the world for it to be logical that someone could never love more than one.

I'm not advocating cheating or secret affairs. Not by any means. No, I just wish that having more than one lover were socially acceptable. That everyone would understand that a person can be deeply, truly in love with more than one person.
