Why did you leave me?

Where have you gone?

I feel hollow…you’ve ripped out my soul

I choke down the pain, try to sing your song

Has come to pass

Maybe you’re in heaven

Your memory will forever last

 

Engraved into my heart

Blood gushing with every beat

Are the last words you said to me

“I’ll soon be home, don’t worry Pete…”

 

Pete…

The name rolls off your tongue

As only a mothers words can

And I try to stay strong

 

For you

Because I know that you would want me to

 

I love you

And don’t you forget

That I left this world in ignorance

With no regrets

 

Except that I didn’t save you…
