Eagles and Oranges

Eagles and Oranges

A Poem by Willard Wells
"

10 Word Prompt

"

Stop the ride, everything is turning

Grey as I stumble along

the creek which is near the

Battlefield train platform.

Cases of oranges that taste

like heaven sit in weak sided boxes.

Each box has a label with an eagle on it.

I just don't know what eagles and oranges

have in common.

Giggles! I actually enjoyed the humor of this write. I enjoyed reading this very much. My family, on my fathers side, are railroaders, so even that is fun for me. Certain oranges do taste like heaven! HALOs for example! And why not an eagle on every box. Maybe they grown and packaged on an Indian Reservation. As my late husband was Native American, I can envision that. I liked it and thank you for your entry!
