Yesterday

Yesterday

A Poem by Wynter Page
"

...not the Beatles song...

"

If you could take a breath

of me

and put it in a thought,

would it be more real?

If my promise hadn't fallen

with the passing of my tears,

would it still be strong?

Or would it still be a yesterday?

Would I still be a yesterday?

The past still exists,

and it still stabs the present.

I knew I couldn't exist,

not when there's nothing left.

I ran away,

I ran away,

because the world promised

I wouldn't feel the pain anymore.

But I still feel the cruel wilting of knowing

I'm not human.

I bled the betrayal,

and breathed the ignorance

because I wanted the paradise,

I wanted the promise.

Yet it left me lost in a yesterday.

Not the song...by any means:

Yesterday --- all my troubles seem so far away....I believe in yesterday...

the way is reads --- its only missing a musical accompaniment...
and its set to fly in the air...I can feel the depth of the words...
yet a voice wants to sing the lyrics...
of this work...

This piece is filled with so much pain and sadness that it disturbs ones soul.
You can feel the anguish in every word you have written. Your choice of words
are incredible and touched me deeply.

Thank you Swaroop :)
A tragic and beautiful depiction of suicide and its connotations. Something that leaves you thinking.
