speechless

speechless

A Poem by Aries

"
I asked my bedroom wall today,
"Why so blue?"
It shrugged, but didn't speak
because it's a wall, and also colored peach

I'm not sure what I expected.

The window would have offered to help
but I could see right through it.

Quiet.

there's a solemnity in the snow outside
as the walls, windows and streets shudder
crystalline
they have nothing left to say

The effect of this offering was interesting. The first three stanzas have a whimsical air about them. Then comes the the one word, "Quiet." After that comes the last stanza, which, while saying nothing remotely negative, has a haunting quality about it which I cannot name. I'll have to think about this one for a while. Good work.
