A Cunning Winter

A Cunning Winter

A Poem by xFae

Once in a life
Different than mine
I saw the signs of the first snowflakes
As they landed with grace and elegance so pure

I took a deep breath…
...and let go
Feeling the wind’s kiss across my cheeks
I sprint towards the naked woods

My breath rises
In misty plain puffs
To join the darkened mid night sky
And clouds above

As I look ahead
I notice the snowflakes
That covers the trees
Who silently whisper their serene song

Luring me in…
Deeper…
And Deeper…
Away from the life that i clinged to
dearly.
