Cinquains :)

Cinquains :)

A Poem by Luna Evangeline

RAINBOW

Dazzling display

Glowing, ascending, hypnotizing

Vibrant as the sun

CRESCENT

GHOST

Spirit astray

Sighing, mourning, lingering

Elusive as a forgotten memory

POLTERGEIST

SUMMER

Sweltering oasis

Baking, relaxing, tanning

Slow as molasses

FREEDOM

FEATHER

Green, silken

Dipping, diving, dancing

Drifts like a lonesome cloud

FRINGE

I know perhaps these don't follow the traditional cinquain rules but they're fun to write. Enjoy :)

Lyrical and lovely. Love the form and flow of the verses. Awesome imagery. Connected yet disconnected. Stellar.

I love to write poetry, but admittedly I am always a student and forever will be of its immeasurable possibilities and myriad forms. Cinquains, then would make sense as short pieces written in 5 lines, whether it be your design or that of a seasoned master both bring me joy. Your fine descriptions built upon metaphorical comparison and states of being are marvelous, as they are, just the same.

These really are finely created quintains. You've shown your readers a chain of shimmering lights. I'm full of admiration. The last one's memorable!

I didn't even know what a cinquain was until now, so thanks for teaching me something new. Reading them was like slowly walking through a gallery and viewing the many paintings or photographs, especially the last one, which captured the motion of a feather in an interesting standstill. Nice work : )
