Stereo-Straight

A Poem by Xavier Honre
"
The only thing I want is the one thing I can't have.
"

I feel your hand,

Touching my skin.

Quietly I hope,

For it never to end.

But after a moment,

It's gone and you leave.

Leaving me wanting,

With my heart on my sleeve.

There's a forbidden love,

Between you and I.

And the terror of the boundaries,

Make me want to cry.

I spend my nights,

Thinking of you.

And wondering what would be,

If only you knew.

Would you hate and despise,

My feelings for you?

Or would you understand,

And accept the truth?

Still there's a chance,

That you might like me.

But your social status,

Won't let you free.

No matter what,

I won't get my way.

Because you're stereo-straight,

And I'm openly-gay.

This is well done, the flow is great... and it's sad at the same time. So depressing, but still wonderful! You let Nicki use this in his journal, I read about it yesterday and read his journal... so I first saw it there. And though this is my second time reading this poem, it's still as great as it was then! No changes of mind.

By the way, awesome last verse. One of the best ending poems I've read!
