The Man In Black

The Man In Black

A Poem by Stacy Purvis

In my dreams, I see you there.

So close to me, as if to care.

I’m in your arms, you hold me tight.

I give you my heart without a fight…

If you push, I know I’ll run.

Just stand still and I will come.

These passions inside, they’ll never die.

I feel alive when we collide.

93 reasons to stay and fight,

We’re all just ghosts rattling chains in

the night.

In the Darkness, an abstract fright.

I lose myself when you’re out of sight.

Are you caught in a moment you cannot

sustain?

Or suspended in motion within the Eye

of the Hurricane?

There’s beauty in the way teardrops

begin to fall

…and deep within a heart that

understands it all.
