Across The Great Divide

Across The Great Divide

A Poem by Stacy Purvis

Miles in-between, mountains divide

Time and space, an informidable tide.

Two hearts beating from far away,

Find their home and there they stay.

You were sent from up above,

A beautiful soul in search of love

Something drew me to you that day

Destiny took my hand to play.

Within your arms, I become whole

And in your voice, I can hear my soul

I read your words and deep inside

Your sober voice becomes my guide.

Like a miracle one hot, summer day

Fate took charge, you came my way

And in one moment with you near

Symphonic notes of love rang clear.

I was captivated, stimulated, engaged

Eyes locking, so much more than a gaze

You, my love are an Eternal Flame

Now, my life will never be the same.

Tender heart so honest, warm and real

Let me show you how you make me feel

Come take my hand to hold forever

Let our two souls begin this endeavor.

No ocean of blue or land so free

Could ever keep your heart from me

Our love is open with nothing to hide

Surviving across the great divide.
