Mary's Little Lamb

Mary's Little Lamb

A Poem by Stacy Purvis

Mary’s Little Lamb

Little lamb so full of grace
Little lamb leave this place!
Leave now before it’s too late
End up a meal on someone’s plate

You’re too trusting
You’re too naive
Always lusting
And then you grieve

Mary’s little lamb
Mary’s little lamb followed
Mary’s little lamb followed her to the slaughter
Bloody beaten little lamb
Left to bleed alone in need
Bloody beaten little lamb
Learn your lesson these words do heed!

Pour your heart out
You’re gonna get sliced
Let your love show
Pay the price

Mary’s little lamb
Mary’s little lamb followed
Mary’s little lamb followed her to the slaughter
Bloody beaten little lamb
Left to bleed alone in need
Bloody beaten little lamb
Learn your lesson these words do heed!

Bloody little lamb looking for some love
Bloody little lamb innocent as a dove
No more following shall you do
Death you found where Mary led you.

Wow. From the old innocent Mary had a little lamb nursery rhyme, you brought a new version with such intensity. I liked this.
