Back with a Vengeance!

Back with a Vengeance!

A Poem by Gitana Deneff

The demons came back with a vengeance.
Attacking my brain, gripping it tightly,
Letting it ooze through gnarled fingers.

The pain, unbearable, blinding.
The arms of my chair
Started to disintegrate
As my fingers dug into them.

The longer I sat, the stronger they became.
Until it grew so agonizing,
I had to get up and go,
leave,
anywhere.

There are no scars left behind,
but the tear trails on my face.

Reading this poem makes the reader feel as if he/she is sitting right next to you during your agony. I really like your descriptions of the pain and horrors you've endured and also the last two lines were very effective.

A most direct and absolute phrasing, the demons negate any negative in one's life and so much of them never do leave behind visable scars, a truly great piece, well done, great read.
