Hate

Hate

A Poem by Gitana Deneff

Noises are garbled

Tumbling around like marbles

In my head.

And I’m tired of pretending

That everything you said

Didn’t leave me

Feeling horrible.

Tired of pretending

That everything is great,

When really,

I’m filled to the brim

With hate

So much hate

And no way to escape.

Blinding rages

Bring forth my tears

Gushing from endless

Sunken eye sockets.

This silent fury

Flutters through me,

Ripping up my lungs

Until they are ragged from

My shuddering sobs,

My deafening screams.
