A Safe Place

A Safe Place

A Poem by Travis Ralston aka LIAR
"

I think hell is coming

"

I've come around for another day
Gotten past the dreams
And that unruly wall of doubt
So here I stand expressionless
Waiting for relief
Where are you now
I need you here
Inside your arms
I'm at home

Well I think of you to ease my pain
And to clear out my mind
The silence is a killer
It doesn't like to play games
So I sit here and lock myself away
And go back to a place
-Way deep down
My soul is taking
Such deep breaths

All I'm asking you
Is for a safe place
One far away
From all of this misery and hate
So wrap me up
Keep me warm
Let me hear your voice
I think hell is coming

All I need is to feel okay
So I don't breakdown
If you saw what's inside of me
I fear that you would run
All the hope left inside of me
Would start to fade away
Where are you now
I need you here
Inside your arms
I'm at home

The words I spoke
I forget
They've gone away
Storm clouds are moving fast
The memories and paranoia
Are eating me slow
So I lay here and close my eyes
-It is so black
I can't see
Anything; even what is right in front of me

All I'm asking you
Is for a safe place
One far away
From all of this misery and hate
So wrap me up
Keep me warm
Let me hear your voice
I think hell is coming
