Simple Weeks

Simple Weeks

A Poem by Travis Ralston aka LIAR
"

Longing for something that was never there...

"

I see how I could never
Live up to your great expectations
All the talk and the walks and the scattered conversations
Leading up to what should have been a dream come true
But instead we're living in opposite worlds
Where I can speak but you don't hear a word I say
And static waves and voices miles away
Can't place me close to what you are thinking
I never knew, but I could tell when you were happy
Just by looking into your eyes
I'd take a glance and come up with just a smile
But now my only opportunity to see your face
Is to look at your pictures and close my eyes
And I don't know what it is you're doing
You never tell me much
And even though I shouldn't be
I want to say I'm sorry
That I couldn't be what you need
