The Young Man and His Bride

The Young Man and His Bride

A Poem by T.Y.N.P.

I doubt you've heard the story

of the young man and his bride;

how they were cursed to live apart

until the other died.

You would think they would be patient,

you would think they would not cry,

but it is hard to kiss your love when

he’s the earth, and you’re the sky.

When all else failed to break the curse,

they did, at last, decide

to meet at a single point each day,

and thus, their love survived.

And if you look out to the sea,

on a clear, early morn,

you’ll see them blush as they embrace

on the fine line of the horizon.

Bit of a stretch, and feeling whimsical as I scroll through pictures of sunrises on Pinterest.
