Katniss

Katniss

A Poem by Hayley-Jade
"

The Hunger Games wasn't just an exciting read for me. No, for me, it got personal. This poem describes how a single fictional character, Katniss Everdeen, has impacted my non-fictional life.

"

Katniss inspires me to fight another day

The odds might not be in my favor

But if there's a will, there's a way

You can say I'm not forced to fight to the death

But really, aren't we all?

Struggling to survive this Hell

It really isn't ever dull

No, it's always full of heartbreak

Always full of pain

Always daring you to give up

Showing you it's impossible to be sane

But like Katniss

I will continue to thrive

Even when faced with impossible odds

I have no choice but to continue to drive

Like Katniss

And survive
