Tears

Tears have many personalities.

 

They can be cold.
for the deaths of the old.

 

They can be hot,
for anger that seems to rise up a lot.

 

They come fast in times that last,
and slow in times that blow.

 

Sometimes they creep,
like those in a dream.

 

And sometimes they charge,
fast watery and large.

 

Most are sour,
tainted with pain.

 

A few are mild,
painted with sorrow.

 

And only one is sweet,
laced with pure joy.
