The Lost Scroll

A Poem by lawrence bear

Seas of Red

A war has bred.

Waters tainted with blood,

A vast sea flows of red.

The Earth,

Feels on fire.

Reflections of Orange and red,

The air hums of a choir.

Angels from heaven,

Spill into this fight.

Filled with faith,

They hold the sword of might.

The seas a fire,

I’m cut and battered.

Angels and demons,

So many are scattered.

In the water I stand,

The reflections I see.

Stars envelop the sky,

Heaven and Eternity.

I grasp my sword,

Rattled I’m weary.

My heart, my life,

I fight with fiery.

More blood stains,

Earth looks of redden.

A battle, a war, that is,

Absolutely lovely! In a sickly sort of way. Thank you for sharing your vivid atrocities, my good friend :)

This is nice Lawrence. It's a horrible picture you've painted, but one that is very vivid.

sorry for the late reply, but thank you for your review
I don't think I have ever gotten this strong a sense from a battle poem on the cafe. You have the images and the organization, but there is also an undercurrent of many generations here. I don't exactly get the feeling that it is from the European dark ages, but a time from not so long ago.
