After Dark - Chapter Four

A Chapter by lawrence bear

Life or death

It let’s out a loud roar and a single shot ripples through the night sky followed by a sound of something tearing. His abdomen burns, his hand covers what feels like tiny ropes. He gasps at the sight of his own blood, he didn’t even feel it, only heard it. Dropping to his knees in bewilderment, his eyes slowly look up to his predator, the thing, and the beast that now stands before him. He struggles with words, as he is stunned, it lunges toward him, horror-struck, he finally finds a voice to scream. Grunts and growls are heard as the man wrestles the beast fighting for his life, crying for help as they roll in and out of his light.

Wrestling with the beast. Animal strength is hard to overtake. A wild situation in this chapter. A excellent chapter.
