After Dark - Chapter Nine

A Chapter by lawrence bear

Cry for help

Paul has control of Greg’s horse, and then he looks up as he hears screams of terror, followed by gunshots that rippled through the night air bouncing off the hills. He ties the steed to a tree, and then hops on his horse.

“Come on girl, giddy up. E-yah,” the horse gallops.

More screams are heard, he tries to get his horse to run faster, but she is at full speed as he whips the reins on each side racing to help.

I hope I’m not too late…not too late. Come on baby, faster, go faster. His thoughts race along with his horse.

Another shot rebounds out bouncing throughout the valley.

A action filled chapter. You left the reader with a open ending. I will return and read your story later. I like the characters and the details in the story. Always a pleasure to read your work Lawrence.

I like the transition. You want reins though . . . or at least that is the way I've always seen it spelled. I'm not sure if different areas don't use different spellings and word choices.
