The guy’s climb down from out of the tree and Paul looks on at the beast.

“Is it dead?” Rudy calls out.

“That bloody thing nearly got to me… Good thing Rudy startled it by screaming like a little girl and distracted it.” Greg grins.

Paul lets out a burly laugh as he slaps Rudy on the back.

“I’m just glad to be alive, you smart-a*s.” Rudy responds.

“Hey, what the bloody hell is that thing anyway?” Greg looks on the beast lying there.

Paul crept closer toward it reloading and nudges at it with his gun to see if it is dead. It rolls over…

“Be careful,” Rudy reaches for Paul. “It might be still alive.”

As Paul slinked closer, what he sees is beyond belief. Disturbed by what looks like a human hand on the limb of the creature.

“Mary mother of…” at that moment the beast snapped at him with a roar and faced another retort of gun fire, which propels the monster over the edge with one last ghastly howl.

“Hey, Paul, are you okay?” Rudy blurts as he watched his friend keel over. “Did it get you?”

“No, I don’t know, but I don’t feel so good right now,” Paul holds his shoulder. Greg’s eyes glanced at the where the beast fell, and then back at Paul, “Is it dead?”

“Bloody hell, it could never survive that fall.” Rudy looks down, “it’s about a three hundred yard drop to the rocks below, and I would think so.”

“We’ll come back in the morning, to see what it is.” Paul moaned. “But for now, let’s keep it hush, hush.”
