After Dark - Chapter Fifteen

A rumble within

Thunder rolls…

He sees someone running, up a hill tripping and looking back. Thunder rolls again, it’s a women fleeing. Trying to escape her captures or capture, who is it?

“Why is she running away from me?” he thinks. “Its Julie… Julie!” He calls. “Julie wait!”

The same time he hears a familiar sound. The cry of the beast, a beast he thought he killed. She runs for the hill, the only way out. “Run Julie!” He cries, as a howl is heard again. He sees her in front of him; he runs after her, he can see her running… falling… looking back scared…

“Julie!”

A howl rips across the sky, but much closer now.

As he gains on her, a wolf runs ahead of him, chasing after her, she screams in terror as she stumbles over. The wolf attacks, ripping at her as she cries for help…

 

A howl cuts into the sky as it rumbles within…

“Julie!” he cries.
