A Poem by lawrence bear
"

I kiss you while you sleep

"
I woke up this morning,
hugging only the air.
A letter you wrote,
only remains there.

*I kiss you*

I kiss you,
While you sleep.
My heart,
You keep.

Words cannot foretell,
what may or in thought.
But I do know,
our ending, is not.

Our worlds are different,
lives spent apart.
Only time will tell,
when our beginnings start.

I'm sorry,
but I must leave.
I will come back,
you must believe.

I kissed you,
while you slept.
The tears I had,
a departure we must accept.

I kiss you,
While you sleep.
My heart,
You keep.

I couldn't help it,
the tears I cry.
So much sorrow,
perhaps I'll die.

I held it close,
to my heart.
My world,
once torn apart.

A life,
taken from me.
A car crash,
that happen to be.

I understand now,
I must let go.
My heart,
I once did not know.

I may be
Brokenhearted.
But I love you,
my dearly departed.

Tears
sometimes stain,
But memories,
always remain.

*I kiss you*

I kiss you,
While you sleep.
My heart,
You keep.

Words cannot foretell,
what may or in thought.
But I do know,
our ending, is not.

Our worlds are different,
lives spent apart.
Only time will tell,
when our beginnings start.

I'm sorry,
but I must leave.
I will come back,
you must believe.

I kissed you,
while you slept.
The tears I had,
a departure we must accept.

I kiss you,
While you sleep.
My heart,
You keep.

This made me think of a favorite song...The Cure's Disintegration album.

"The Same Deep Water As You"

kiss me goodbye pushing out before i sleep
can't you see i try swimming the same deep
water as you is hard "the shallow drowned lose
less than we" you breathe the strangest twist
upon your lips "and we shall be together..."

"kiss me goodbye bow your head and join with
me" and face pushed deep rteflections meet
the strangest twist upon your lips and
dissapear the ripples clear and laughing break
against your feet and laughing break the mirror
sweet "so we shall be together..."

"kiss me goodbye" pushing out before i sleep
it's lower now and slower now the strangest
twist upon your lips but i don't see and i dont
feel but tightly hold up silently my hands
before my fading eyes and in my eyes your
smile the very last thing before i go...

i will kiss you i will kiss you i will kiss you
forever on nights like this i will kiss you i will
kiss you and we shall be together...

sorry...like music...poetry moves me.

There was both hurt..and whimsy in your words. And I....just felt like sharing.
Yes I liked it! I sang it and then did a weird dance around the room. LOL it was really good. It had a tone of despair and longing and it was tangible I like this :)

thank you :)
A familiar story, but well done, what I really like is the letter with just one phrase, in the present tense, I kiss you. Nice idea.

A sorrowed piece for sure Can any of us ever say we justify the loss of time with those we love

Very nice. So hard to give up on those hopes.
