Eternal Cigarette

Eternal Cigarette

A Poem by Lola
"

Based on a misunderstood soul, who seems to find themselves in the comfort of the comforting smoke their body exchanges with a cigarette.

"
Give me a cigarette.
The inhalation of the bitter shreds,
The unraveling foam that toss&turn within me escalating,
Tickling the airway
I no longer breathe from.

For a moment, i am inhuman.
For that exact millisecond of a moment,
I am eternal.
The way a cigarette is able to cease my breath at that moment.
The pause,
The moment of condoling silence and release the cigarette and its holder share,
The moment that seems like it could go on forever.
You know which moment i'm talking about of course?

The puff of the boundless smoke start to collapse out my passageways.
Floating ahead,
Selfishly carrying the pain along with it.
Drifting off to form clouds,
That carry the b*tches inside my head.

Disappearing as it drifts.
Like i am,
Like i always am.
Nicotine ash on my lips,
Mourning my no longer virgin lungs.
Pain - Numb - Sore - Broken - Angel - Love - Laughter - Happiness
I begin decipher things that were never moral for a mourning soul like me.

Black
Like the ashes that cradle my tongue,
Like the way my lungs'll soon become,
Like the way I shall be mourned.

No one understands me,
But a f*cking cigarette.
Give me a cigarette.
