Mysteries Of Love

Mysteries Of Love

A Chapter by Dr. YumnaKay
"

An old one. Rewritten.

"
Such are the mysteries of love
that people surrender without giving a second thought...

though having none,
yet giving all to the person ~ they love.

Oh, stupid love!
How many shall ye slay,
before thy thirst is vanquished?

Oh, stupid love!
How many will go amiss,
while searching for you all over the place?

I too was a naysayer YumnaKey.
I too a non-believer.
Its a curse when it strikes - like lightening exploded your clothes off and burning you from the inside out. You'll never be the same again.
One thing it isn't is stupid
It's a smart mofo!
I like the refrain 'Oh stupid love!" - it decries and it yearns all at once. Very intuitive. From a loving heart methinks lol.

Love is like playing with fire. It's easy to get burned by something so beautiful! It's mans biggest wish and his worst nightmare. It can raise a rockbottom person to skyhigh. It can sink someone to the ocean floor. It's hard to understand yet it has been the most common thing ever. It can break you and tear you to shreds or it can build you and fix your flaws.
Good job!
Love, Sarah

Theres a beautiful saying in spanish by a great poet which sais: "Todo en Amor es Triste, mas triste y todo es el mejor que existe" por Campo Amor.

In English it reads like this: "Everything in love is sad, yet sad and all it is the best Ive ever had" by CampoAmor

Thank you so much! Your words and appreciation means a lot to me.. Love is all that and more...
Perhaps Ann Sexton would have related love to a virus. I like the way you wrote this. As great as love is, it also has the power to consume us and spit us out.

Love wretched love. What would we do without it? This short piece had a Shakespearean flavor to it that I liked. A good write.

Love is something that we regret when we have it and even when we are unable to acquire it. Thank yo.. read more
True. We spend so much of our time and emotion chasing it, finding it, then watching it crumble in front of our very eyes, which leads to the pain it brings to every waking thought and at the expense of everything we set aside in it's place. I am sure of one thing, it is the most contagious thing known to man/Woman :)

I love how you explained throughout the poem how powerful love is without saying the word. This is a good one 😊

Thank you for reviewing! It means a lot ☺
love's absolutely so stupid and idiot, stupidly idiotic life it certainly brings to lovers, or may be, to love-hearts. ouch! such a mystery, of course, it is. never revealed. neither ever understood at all. very fair & fine verse of philosophy you "cum" to get yourself "licked" in. excellent!!
