Falling

Falling

A Chapter by Dr. YumnaKay
"

All people are equally good.. Sometimes we aren't good enough to keep up with them...

"
Holding on to strings,
hoping that something
good will happen...
thinking that you'll be
my salvation, my saviour,
the reason for my
being alive, uptil now...

Such delusions
will tear me apart,
don't you think?
It's just a figment
of my imagination
(maybe you are too).

That you are here,
watching me
get along with whatever
difficulties I face ...

instead, you,
(and that's what I think)
gave me a push,
now I'm falling ...
into this abyss,

and there you are ...
laughing
your heart out.

I believe there is always hope even the slightest glimmer. I also think we have a greater ability to determine our destiny than we think. Sure certain things are just what they are but for the most part we can turn the tables. Thoughtful writing Yumna. I enjoyed reading. R xo

No I think I have fallen already...
Optimistic yet pessimistic. I like the spareness of the verses, good poem! Really like those last three lines too.

No problem. Those last three lines really do well as an end to this poem.

If only superman was there to help at the jumping point. Alas it turns out to be the joker. Life, who would have it.

Interesting thought! I like your take on this one! Thank you! ☺
We hope for the best, yet we fear the worst for a reason, because without hope only leaves us hopelessness. Even in the lowest pit of despair, we hope to find a way out.

You're 'welcome :)
I think we often blame others for 'pushing' us in a particular direction but I imagine we have more control of our destinations than we give ourselves credit for. Still, there are some out there, who do their best to manipulate the roads we take in life and sometimes we are not lucid enough to see it. I really like where this piece takes me.
