Dark Soul

Dark Soul

A Chapter by Dr. YumnaKay

Your voice,

was once
my only

salvation

it carried
a depth,
a meaning,

which none
appeared to
fathom

Your eyes,

were once

the window
to my soul,

the view is
blurred now,

or maybe you're
too far
to notice,

a soulless
life here

Your hands,

I've forgotten
their touch,

the way
they made me

feel
on fire,

it has gone amiss

My soul,

it's darker
than before

I closed it
shut

not to be
opened,

at least,
not for you

Ah..this is one sad yet sweet piece. Thought and content both are beautifully described here. Sometimes few events and experiences change our perception regarding few things in life...love too has the same impact..don't let the soul get darken by it. I know this is very easy to say but we need to survive. I hope this poem is not what you feel because if it is then this is really painful to read.
Nicely written:-)

of course, anytime.
Darkness comes for awhile after disappointment. But light will most likely return as we plod on. Your writing exudes the feel of a heart which trusted and felt the sting of betrayal. I.I.

I can't help but feel hurt or resentment in this piece... More accurately, that's where your words walk my spirit here.

Oh feel free to.. And same here as well ☺
To me, your poem has a slow breathing quality to it, which makes the sadness of the words even more profound. I think the lines "or maybe you're
too far
to notice,
a soulless
life here"
cut right to the soul. Powerful work, YumnaKay

Mary, Thank you so much! I am much humbled by your kind words and glad that you like it ☺
It is always beyond sad when you forget their touch. Something that once made you feel so alive. Poignant words we all know too well, beautifully written.

Love this. Favorite part, "My soul is darker than before..." Sounds twisted to say such a sad part was my favorite, but I like the power behind it. It was a nice, short read. Thanks for sharing YumnaKay
