Words Of Endearment

Words Of Endearment

A Chapter by Dr. YumnaKay
"

Pun Intended...

"
"Darling"
"Sweetheart"
"Honey"
"Dear..."

Oh and yes,
How can I forget
"Baby.."

All these words
of endearment
kinda make me
sick...

Call me by my name,
why don't you?

I love the slightly hesitant outspokenness of this statement. I'm not a fan of nicknames either. In a longterm relationship, a nickname symbolizes how sometimes the other person doesn't really even see you, but just a caricature of you that they've conveniently drawn from observation & expectation (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Aye, I think nicknames like these are just too generic and maybe even objectifying or something. read more

I hope you can take my review without blocking me - haha - This one - I think it's about respect and not making one feel uncomfortable or belittled.
If someone asks you to call them a term of endearment though then we should.
I agree on your suspicion that the introvert called this one Yumna. Unique piece.

An interesting bi-polar use of a common theme. Short, sweet, to the point. I especially like the closing, "Why don't you?" Sort of: 'a phrase out of sync. a plea don't you think?' Or am I reading too much into it?
Any way - well done!

I think it's more like exasperated tone here, not plea.
Thank you! I'm glad you liked it 😊

I had to laugh a bit while reading this because it reminded me of a past me.

I've never liked people calling me nicknames and such, either but after a while I learned to accept that it was a way to show their love for you, love in various, also friendship ways.

But I still don't like the people who barely know you and keep on calling you honey etc, a very superficial way to connect, almost disrespectful to me bit I also had to learn that in some cultures it's apparently just normal..

You see, many perspectives, as always ;)
